Constructions Overview

Detailed Narrative Description of Project:
 
The Project’s components are as follows:
 
1. Agusan River Improvement (East Bank) (14,377 m), cut-off channel (5,660 m) and 2 sluices;
2. Construction of Magsaysay Bridge/Viaduct (628 m), cut-off channel bridge (90 m) and 135 m approach;  

3. Improvement of Banza River and land development involving dredging (6,233 m), spoil bank yard (90 ha), construction of resettlement areas for affected households (7,000 families), pedestrian bridges, etc.; and 

4. Masao River Improvements and Butuan City Drainage System.


Detailed Narrative Description of Project:
 
The Project’s components are as follows:
 
1. Agusan River Improvement (East Bank) (14,377 m), cut-off channel (5,660 m) and 2 sluices;

Detailed Description of Actual Services Provided: The detailed engineering design of the entire LADP Flood Control components including the construction of the West Bank Dike and related improvements were undertaken under Phase I of the Project.
 
The services provided by the Consultant under Phase II of LADP-FC included the following:

1. Pre-construction stage:
a) Review of detailed designs; re-study of Magsaysay Viaduct, economic evaluation and design of urban drainage system and other restructured works; 
b) Cost estimation; 
c) Construction plan preparation; 
d) Assistance in tendering and award activities; and 
e) Transfer of technology;
 
2. Construction Stage:
a) Topo and cross-section surveys of drainage system; and 
b) Hydrological/geotechnical studies, construction supervision of all components;
 
3. Study on water management and flood forecasting/warning system; and 

4. Formulation and implementation of overall resettlement program for about 7,000 families.
