Detailed Narrative Description of Project:
The Project is located on a flat alluvial plain in the lower reaches of the Pampanga River, parts of which were affected by the Mt. Pinatubo eruption. It involves both for flood mitigation and agri-development mainly for double cropping rice as a mainstay, and formulation of an irrigation scheme covering a net area of 11,450 hectares with a diversion dam with steel gates, main canals, laterals and sub-laterals of 163 km, and main, secondary and collector drains of 116 km. and project facilities. Upon realization of the Project, about 20,000 hectares of land and 13,400 households would be relieved of floods and have an additional rice production of around 115,000 tons per annum in the newly reclaimed farm land of 11,450 hectares.

Detailed Description of Actual Services Provided:
As members of the Design Team, PKII participated in the detailed engineering design and/or redesign, and pre-construction services as necessary, of the following Project components:
1) Diversion dam consisting of a fixed weir, gated weir and intake structure;
2) Irrigation and drainage canal systems; and
3) Farm roads and on-farm facilities.
Other services provided included the following:
- Conducted socio-economic survey of affected inhabitants;
- Participated in planning extension services in the Project Area; and
- Conducted training program.
